    What exactly is EPR?

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy principle. It makes companies responsible for the disposal and recycling of their packaging and certain products. Depending on the country and the sales model, this can apply to the manufacturer, the retailer or another party placing goods on the market first. In practice it usually means: report volumes, pay fees and meet the specific obligations in each country.

    What exactly is EPR?
    The problem

EPR compliance in Europe is fragmented, manual, and risky

Compliance, finance and operations teams spend hours every month chasing data across countries, schemes and spreadsheets.

    Different rules in every country

Each EU member state has its own EPR scheme, categories, thresholds, and reporting logic — multiplying complexity with every new market.

    Deadlines are easy to miss

Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual cycles overlap across countries — a single missed submission can trigger penalties.

    Documents scattered everywhere

Registrations, declarations, invoices and certificates live across emails, drives and PO-specific portals — impossible to audit quickly.

    Manual work creates risk

Spreadsheets and copy-paste workflows lead to errors, listing blocks on marketplaces, and stalled EU expansion plans.
